ATTRACTIONS

One of the best known landowner eco-tourism lodges in Papua New Guinea, Kumul Lodge is famous for its bird-watching and orchid tours and is entirely owned and managed by local people.

 

Situated over 2,800 metres above sea level, amidst rare high altitude ancient tropical rainforests nearly 100 bird species have been recorded in the lodge grounds alone, including three species of birds of paradise and many more in the surrounding area. The lodge provides guided bird watching tours.

The rooms at Kumul Lodge all come with electric blankets, coffee and tea making facilities and hot showers.

FACILITIES

The lodge facilities include a spacious shared lounge area centred around a warm fireplace and a cosy bar. There is also a wide veranda overlooking a bird feeding area, which is a hive of activity early in the morning and late afternoon with a myriad of bird species.

 

MEALS

Breakfast lunch and dinner are served buffet style in the dining area with the views to the surrounding forest.
